Newspaper in Education (NIE) is a nationwide system of cooperation between newspapers and schools. Research shows that the idea of using newspaper content in education is not a new one; in fact, recorded references go back as far as the 1890s.
According to a Newspaper Association of America Foundation (NAAF) report, NIE helps students improve standardized test scores when newspaper content is used in the classroom and at home on a regular basis.
Upon receiving requests from Lancaster County public, private and home schools, LNP MEDIA GROUP, Inc., through the Vacation Donation program supported by our subscribers, provides over 790,000 free newspapers each year for classroom use.
As you can see from our homepage, teachers who use NIE events and activities as learning tools provide their students with a unique opportunity to share their achievements with the community through LNP MEDIA GROUP, Inc.’s publications.
