Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. is dedicated to promoting literacy throughout Lancaster County by providing learning opportunities for readers of all ages. This interesting tour encourages members of the community at large as well as students and their teachers to read about current national and local events in the newspaper.
During the tour, those attending will learn how news goes from print to press and watch as our Flexo Press prints pages for our two newspapers: Intelligencer Journal and Sunday News. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about our online products, including e-Editions, and how they can be used as a resource tool in everyday living.
Lancaster County teachers are encouraged to bring their students, ages 8 and older to tour our 8 West King Street facilities. Grade-level appropriate newspaper activity packets are available upon request and will be mailed prior to students taking the tour. Preparation prior to the tour allows students to better grasp the concepts of the Lancaster Newspaper's, Inc. newsprint and online products.
