Science and Engineering Fair (LNSEF)
The LNSEF is a science competition open to students in grades 7 through 12 who attend school in Lancaster County. Students must conduct original research, present their findings in a display, and discuss their projects with judges. The top two winners in the senior division advance to compete in the Intel Science and Engineering Fair in Atlanta, Georgia in May 2008.
On March 17, 18 & 19, Lancaster Newspapers Science and Engineering Fair will be held at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.
This year NIE is excited to announce a totally new online registration system for teachers and students!

NIE WEEK
NIE conducts a Journalism and Design an Ad contest for Newspaper in Education Week in March. Teachers may register students for the contest online by October 15.
Journalism: Students create an illustration or write a specific kind of article
Grades K-1: Illustrating Headlines
Grades 2-5: Writer's Choice
Grades 6-8: News Feature
Grades 9-12: Editorial
Design an Ad: Students create an advertisement for a specific business using instructions from the advertiser. Winning entries are selected by the advertiser.
Winners are recognized at an NIE Week reception in February.
